Legal Question in Family Law in California

Change school

My 14 year old daughter was told from her mother and I (dad) that when she starts high school, that she can go to school with her older brother. This would mean she would live with me because her brother lives with me. Regerstrations was completed in June 07 and now her mother is changing her mind. This has created arguments and my daughter running away from moms house. If I continue forward and support my daughter by letting her attend high school with her brother; will the cause any problems for me?

Re: Change school

This could potentially be a problem. If her mom has primary custody and won't give her permission, then you need to go to court for an order granting permission for your daughter to change homes.

Your daughter needs to stop running away from home, however. If she wants the court to take her wishes into consideration, she needs to act a little more responsibly.

Re: Change school

You should file a motion and ask for an order shortening time to get the matter before the judge as quickly as possible. I suggest that you retain an attorney. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
