Legal Question in Family Law in California

last month I filed an ex parte to get temporary custody of my children and since their father did not come to court the judge granted me the custody. I filed because he took the children and decided he was not going to bring them home. He had them for two weeks and I filed a police report and the officer called it child stealing. A detective had to go to his job and tell him to bring the kids to him so he could bring them home. Today I got a phone call telling me to be in court and I found out that he filed an ex parte against me. Will the judge give him custody even though I was already granted temporary custody until our court date in August?
