Legal Question in Family Law in California

regarding child support

I want to get child support after my divorce with my husband, but because he already pays for 3 children from a previous relationship he is only bringing 180-240 a week. the mother of his other children is married. so my question is if I apply for child support, will his wages be garnished again....or....will the child support his ex is receiving be garnished and given to me?

Re: regarding child support

His wages are garnished. Your action is separate from but affected by the other case. His support is reduced for your child because he has 3 others, but then he needs to reduce the support to the others proportionately for your child, which means new orders in the new action.

This people all have to make happen. Nothing just happens on its own.
