Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child support payments

Is there a statute of limitations on back child support? My former husband paid child support for a very short time and has never paid since. However, after attempting to go through the legal system back in the 70's I gave up and supported my children alone. I did not have time to pursue it then, but I do now. Any advise?

child support arrearages

You can probably still pursue the arrearages. Suggest you contact local District Attorney's Child Support Collection (or similar name) office. If you have money for a private attorney (or can find one who will take it on a contingency fee basis), that is another alternative. The more info you can supply about the father, the better. Good luck
