Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child support and relocating overseas w/the military

I have a 2 yr old daughter who was born out of wedlock to two military personnel in Germany. We had a paternity test done to prove he is the father. I am a resident of CA and moved back here almost 2 yrs ago. I opened a case with the local child support services office and tried to have my daughter's father served while he was stationed in S.Cal. Before he was successfully served, he was discharged and moved back to Missouri. I am getting ready to move to Korea for a 1yr remote assignment. During that time, my daughter will reside with my parents in S. Cal. However, after Korea, we will be moving back to Germany. So here are my questions...How do I go about serving child support papers now that he is in Missouri? Does it go through CA or MO? Secondly, while I am in Korea, will he be able to try and obtain custody of our daughter? And lastly, am I allowed to take my daughter with me to Germany if there is no court order regarding custody/visitation?

Re: Child support and relocating overseas w/the military

He would be able to seek custody of his child. You should consider obtaining a guardianship for your parents. This will not guarantee that he would not be successful, but it would make it more difficult.
