Legal Question in Family Law in California

Communal Apt for Single Man and Married Woman

I have never been married. My girlfriend has a husband but they are separated, not divorced. Me and my girlfriend are about to live together in an apartment. If they divorce, will I be liable for anything? Could the husband file a suit against me and try to get assets I own?

No. California is a no fault divorce state. Evidence of misconduct is not allowed, except as it may apply to custody and visitation. California does not have a cause of action for alienation of affection or interfering with a marital relationship.
