Legal Question in Family Law in California

My daughter is adopted with diagnosis of mood disorder & depression. She knows her birth sister and now wants to live there instead of home where she feels rules are ridiculous. She has oppositional defiant as well for a diagnosis. The birth sister is threatening court for custody but she is 18, unwed, with a 3 year old. She does not work, highschool dropout, recieves food stamps and medicaid and has been in trouble herself. There are alot of police calls to her home for fighting with her adoptive mother as well as child protective issues. Is there anything I need to do? My daughters physician here is helping me to look for some type of group home or foster placement temporarily until she can have more intensive therapy and behavior modifications. Please help!!!

From what you state, it is highly unlikely that the court would allow her to adopt your daughter. Parental rights are very difficult to terminate. I would suggest finding help for her quick before she starts making accusations against your family in order to get what she wants. Yes, I have seen it before.
