Legal Question in Family Law in California

i had a daughter out of wedlock and her father is involved. as he has been unemployed for the last 7 months i have not been receiving the normal $375 monthly support of which he calculated. we did go through mediation and she mostly resides with although, i cannot take her out of the county without her father's written concent. recently, due to financial hardship i have discovered that i will be forced to make an out of state move. i have found that the economy in san diego is suffering and with it, we have lost our utilities and ultimately our home. the move would better our situation as the economy in the state of which i plan to move is better. how can i get the adopted mediator's decision overturned so that i am able to make the necessary move.

You file a motion to change the custody and support arrangment. You will have another mediation, and if you can't agree, a judge will decide what is best for the child and you will have to follow that.

Your county has a Family Law Facilitators' office. They can help you.
