Divorce and credit card payments

My husband left me in July of this year, he is a crack addict and ran up numerous credit card bills in his name. I am in the process of filing for divorce, Am I responsible for the bills he has incurred since he has been out of the Home?

As a rule you are not responsible for debts incurred after separation. However, if you signed an agreement with the credit card people to repay their credit they can sue you and you would have to try to collect from your husband. Better to cancel the cards.

ANY DEBT INCURRED AFTER PARTIES' DATE OF SEPARATION IS CONSIDERED INCURRING PARTY'S SEPARATE OBLIGATION.
