Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce Settlement

the settlement of my divorce was signed by the judge on tuesday (2 days ago) my husband doesn't want to release the money until he talks to his attorney because the agreement said he has to do it within 30 days. my question is, once the judge orders the judgement, can't he pay me at anytime before the 30days. the judge has the last word correct?

Re: Divorce Settlement

If the wording of the order is "within 30 days" then he can pay you any time. However, he does not have to pay you until the 30th day.

Hope this helps.
