Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce-Last name changes

When a man divorces his wife, and she chooses to keep his last name eventhough he is remarried and given the current wife his last name, is there any way the man can have the ex-wife legally change her name? It seems odd that both the ex wife and current wife can share his name. The man does not want his exwife to keep his name, as they are not married.

What did the dissolution petition and order say? It could have been requested before judgement, the court may still allow an amendment to have her former name restored. Call me directly at 16192223504.

Unfortunately for many ex-husbands, in general people have a right to use whatever name they prefer, and you may not legally force your ex to go back to her previous name or to otherwise change her name. She has the right to continue using your last name, even if this represents wishful thinking or clinging behavior on her part. She also has the right to change her name to Attila The Hun if she pays the court filing fee. In your dreams.
