Legal Question in Family Law in California

i filed for divorce last january and had a paralegal prepare my paperwork. my ex didnt respond so it went into default. when i went to file the request for judgement forms the court rejected it.i took the paperwork back to my paralegal and submitted it again, but it was rejected.she said to ask for a hearing witn the judge. so i went to the clerk and asked for the divorce hearing in a default setting.i received my court date in the mail last week but my paralegal said that i need to serve him with a copy of the paper i received? on the bottom of the paper it says the clerk sent notice to both parties

Although it may be technically correct, it is best not to rely on the clerk's notation. To assure that the court won't refuse to hear your case, go ahead and serve him and file the proof of service.
