Legal Question in Family Law in California

i filed for divorce which the judge granted in jan.2003, however my ex left the state and i didnt file the final judgment/minutes... i guess i just waited so long i forgot about them- that was in 2003 is the order still good- can i file the final papers now?

Your case may have been dismissed if the case has not been completed for 7 years. You should check the court records to see what was the last filings for your case. You can also ask the court clerk if your case is still alive, or do you need to refile for divorce and re pay the filing fee. I've seen cases that were suspended for a long time and they we revived through agreement by all of the parties. Otherwis eyou may need to refile and pay the filing fee again.
