Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am currently filling out paperwork for a divorce on-line and it is my 2nd divorce. Current name Colvin (husband 2), prior name Kavanagh (husband 1) and maiden name Palmer. They want me to chose between my current last name and my " Formal legal name" which they say is Husband 1's name. I would like to go back to Palmer, my maiden name. Would it be legally correct to put my name previous to this marriage as Palmer in order to revert back to it instead of Kavanagh?
