Re: handling a case from a different state

You should be able to handle the matter through a California Attorney without much difficulty, I have handled many such cases, in fact I have a client from Oklahoma right now that I am assisting in his custody and support case. If you would like to talk about the matter, please feel free to give me call, I'm in Los Angeles.

It may depend upon the county and the local rules of the court. In San Diego County, you do not need to make an appearrance if you have an attorney to represent you. Good Luck, Pat McCrary

Depending upon how contentious the case is, it might be possible to handle it through a California attorney without making an appearance. I have handled several such cases. Also, sometimes the judge or commissioner will permit a telephonic appearance.

Thanks for sharing your interesting inquiry, and good luck with your case.
