come home

My step daughter is living with her maternal grandparents,she will be 16 years old dec.30 and would like to move back home with her mother and my self..Can she make this decision on her own at 16 in ca. Or will she need their permission since they do have custody

If the grandparents have custody then a court order for her to return home will be required. File a petition with the court that granted the grandparents custody, and request a change in custody. Your chances of success in such a motion will depend upon why the grandparents obtained the custody order, and what has happened since then. What have you done to remedy the situation the resulted in the granting of custody of your daughter.
