Legal Question in Family Law in California

Hubby in Oregon and filed for divorce, I am in California. HELP

My Husband is in Oregon and I am in California. I just got served with the paperwork for divorce and I am told I have 30 days to respond. It would cause a financial hardship for me to go to Oregon, so I do not know what to do. Also the paperwork is requesting my last 3 years worth tax returns, I have not lived with my husband since 1981 why do I have to give them my information?

Thanks

You should contact an attorney in Oregon to review these documents. Generally you will have to file an answer or response within the thirty day time frame. Unless you do so your default can be taken. You need to act quickly to avoid your default being taken. As for the income for the last 3 years, that information is usually requested when either spousal or child support is an issue.
