Legal Question in Family Law in California

My husband and I have been separated for 4 months now, we've been married for 2 years and were talking divorce. I purchased my home, car and motorcycle before we were married and now he's saying that he gonna take me for half of everything. Our situation is a little strange, we got married while he was in prison and I supported him while he was there and when he was released we only lived together for a month. He only helped me pay the mortgage once. I've paid for everything else. Since we been living apart he in the process of opening a business.

What are my legal rights in a divorce??? I can I get spousal support, or part of the profits of his business? Is my pre-marital property protected from the divorce??

Please help with any info......

The answer provided to this question is general in nature and cannot replace the advice given by a qualified attorney during a confidential office meeting designed to fully explore your legal options. A lot of issues are raised in this comprehensive question. Under California Law any property or earnings acquired during the marriage ( from date of mariage to date of separation) can be community. . If the marriage was really short and you have been separated during most of the time you were building value in the home then the home may primarily be a separate asset belonging to you. More detailed information is needed. Best to meet with a qualified family law attorney in an office consultation to explore your legal options since so much is at stake.
