Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have an issue where, I must file an expate to gain custody of my five year old daughter, after her father who has sole custody.Took her out of school and Ask me to come get her, while he leaves out of state,for three weeks or more.How do I give him notice, if he's not local?

I believe, you mean ex parte court appearance. An ex parte court appearance is for an emergency situation. I'm not sure what the circumstances are that you are dealing with and it really doesn't matter. I would like to suggest that you contact the family law facilitator's office at the courthouse you are in and ask for their guidance. Each county courthouse in California has a family law facilitator's office and they will offer you guidance in this type of situation.
