Legal Question in Family Law in California

Legal separation and annulment

Can I file for an annulment after filing for a legal separation? I was pregnant and we decided to get married when I was 17 and he was 18, with a parental consent in the state of NV, although my spouse and I have always lived in CA. Would I be able to petition for an annulment? All filing will be done in the State of CA in Alameda county.

Re: Legal separation and annulment

Based on the information you have provided it does not appear that you would qualify for annulment. The state in which you were married is not important. It is the state in which the divorce proceeding is filed. However, you should discuss the facts with an attorney.
