Legal Question in Family Law in California

I live in southern cailfornia, and have a custody case in sacramento county, I need to file a request for an order to modify custody, from the other parent to me, because the custudial parent, is unwilling to co-parent, and times where I'm refused contact with our child for weeks at a time. Will there be a issue of changing custody, because I live far from the other parent?

The courts power to shift custody to a parent mature enough to ensure that both parents are participating in the child's life can be an option but it is not the starting point of how the court deals with parenting conflicts. File your motion and ask for co parenting counseling as a starting point along with a clear enforceable parenting schedule.
