Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have been married only 5 months and have been kicked out of the apartment 5 times. I am sleeping on my sons couch. I sold all my furniture to move into my husbands apartment. My husband is a Vietnam Veteran, Purple Heart and just plain abusive.

My question is Annulment or Divorce?

I want him to pay for a deposit and 1st months rent along with some furniture that I sold to make a marriage work.

Is that possible?

annulment is actually harder to get as you have to give evidence of an invalid marriage. Divorce is simply on "irreconcilable differences" so no exact proof is needed. sounds like you surely need out. however getting support or reimbursement from him is unlikely. Are you working? Is he? if one of you is better off than the other, the judge may order some monetary relief. good luck!

You haven't provided sufficient facts to determine whether you are entitled to an annulment. Contrary to popular belief, the fact that a marriage was of short duration is not in and of itself sufficient grounds for an annulment.
