I am currently unemployed, and have been going to school for the past year My husband and I are getting separated since I have no income coming in will he be responsible for our financial expenses (rent, car payments, and credit cards, etc) until I find a job. Seven years is just at the edge of when courts will consider ordering spousal support. There is a more than decent chance, however, that if you left the work force to have and care for the kids and are now working to get back to employment, that a court would order some period of spousal support. You will also be entitled to child support, with the amount being based on a formula that takes into account any income you have, your husband's income, and the amount of time you agree each of you will have the children.
