Legal Question in Family Law in California

money owed to a spouse

I spent 35 thousand to help renovate my wifes home then we seperated. We used our money in our account to pay a contractor and I paid out of my checking account for things like engineers plans etc. This is her house and I moved out. Am I entitled to my documented money back, a portion of the equity based on a 35k investment, or am a toast?

Re: money owed to a spouse

It depends on the nature of the agreement between you two, and/or whether or not the home at issue is deemed separate or community property. You should retain an attorney to review everything at issue and/or help you get swift justice.
