Legal Question in Family Law in California

My mother-in-law,who lives in Nevada, went to her lawyer after her husband died and was told that it is against the law in Nevada to have him, the lawyer, become the executor of her will. Consequently she procured the services of a CPA, who she had just met and made the CPA the executor of her will. My question to you would be, is it prudent to have someone you just met to become the executor of your will? I'm afraid that the CPA may rip-off the estate proceeds.

If the mother in law lives in Nevada, and the assets in Nevada, then this may involve Nevada law. You may want to repost this question in the category for Nevada lawyers to answer.
