Legal Question in Family Law in California

Paperwork Question Regarding Child Custody/Abuse

I am a single father and I want more or full custody of my son because he frequently says that his mother hits him and calls him dirty names.I only have some evidence of the abuse collected from teachers etc. I wanted to take him to see a child abuse counselor this weekend (the only time I have him) but I need to file paperwork today. If I filed the papers with just the evidence I have right now, can I add more evidence to the file later? And, if so, is it an easy process to add the evidence?

Re: Paperwork Question Regarding Child Custody/Abuse

In custody change cases the court will order you to go to mediation and if that is not successful then an evaluation will be done by a court retained professional. At that time additional information can be provided to the evaluator.
