Legal Question in Family Law in California

Over the past 5 years I have been to court about 20 times to try and get a divorce. Each time I am told something else needs to be submitted before it can be finalized. Then my attorney does not file papers and I find myself back in court again only to be told I have to go back to get it final. I filed in June 2005. I have gotten birforcation but I cannot get anything finalized, my attorney and the oppositing attorney are draining me and my ex of all our money and will not do what is required. I have been lied to by my attorney only to be thrown under the bus in front of our judge, I am told that no one will take over my case due to the length, unless I pay another $5,000, for their services. I don't have anything left for my ex to take, I have primary custody of our two youngest children, he has lied about his income and stop paying me for 6 months only to have the judge side with him on his non payments (where my attorney told me to do nothing about his over payments for 1 1/2 years). I need help

I am sure this is not what you want to hear, but you are going to have to bite the bullet and hire another attorney, and we don't work for free. I generally try to get people with limited means to handle their family law matters themselves, but your situation sounds like it is too messed up for that. There may be options, however, for making your husband or your current attorney or both pay for the legal fees. If you would like to come in and just talk for a free half our about your options, let me know. I see you are in the Castro Valley area, my main office is in Walnut Creek, and I have an office in Oakland. I could arrange to see you at either location.
