If you have to pay alimony monthly and you don't pay or pay less what can happen to you legally?

You can be held in contempt of court, and arrears will accrue with a 10% per annum fee. It is always better to pay something, than nothing. If your circumstances have changed, you may seek a modification of spousal support.
