Legal Question in Family Law in California

If i (the petitioner) call the court court and inform them that i can not make my date, annd the respondent (after being infomred that i cant go) apperars anyway. Can the judge make a judement in the other parties favor anyway???

Yes. Merely calling the court does not get your court date changed. Until the court officially continues the hearing date, which usually requires either a stipulation of both parties or an order of the court, and often requires an order of the court anyway, your original date is still set and the proceeding will go forward without you.

Sure, if it was set for trial and you did not move for a continuance or the judge denied your motion for a continuance.
