Is putting court papers on a car, considered proper service in a child custody case?

A general answer is NO. If the court case is pending, there are one set of rules and if the final judgment has been issued by the court, there is another set of rules which are more strict. Without the courts permission the rules for service can not be modified. I can't think of a service that would be proper in the court's view of putting papers on a car.
