Qualifified domestic relations order

Can you please tell me what this is and why would an attorney use this method on one party and not the other? Thank you

In a general sense, a Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) is an order directing a pension plan to divide the community interest at the commencement of retirement. This is an extremely important document!
