required life insurance

My ex wife informed me that I am required by law to provide life insurance for myself and that she be named the benificeary while I am paying child support for my 15 year old son. It is not in our divorce aggrement that I do so.She also says that I need life insurance to cover her alimony in case something happens to me I live in California

Re: required life insurance

Unless it is in the divorce agreement then you are not required to maintain life insurance. I would be surprised if it isn't in there, because life insurance is standard in my agreements.
