Legal Question in Family Law in California

Restraining order; does it count?

I have 2 questions:

My ex boyfriend filed an restraining order against me and the other day when I came to drop off his stuff papers were given to me by his best friend whom is gay and in love with him. This gay friend is also registered as a protected person. Does the restraining order count since I didnt sign anything plus his friend is involved in the case?

Also I would like to respond to the restraining order. I filed in the DV 120 form but where should I file it?

Re: Restraining order; does it count?

You should follow the orders of the restraining order very carefully. Read the terms of the order, if you are found to be violating it, there are serious consequences to you.

As always please consult with a qualified attorney before proceeding in your case.

Re: Restraining order; does it count?

You should immediately consult with an attorney. Your question indicates a lack knowledge to properly respond to the restraining order. You were served with the restraining order. You did not need to sign for the restraining order to be properly served.
