Legal Question in Family Law in California

My son and his fiance have a daughter together and his fiance has started staying out overnight with "friends"...male. My son has been putting up with this to keep his daughter, but his fiance has now threatened to take their daughter to Maryland. They live in Sacramento, CA, and he is now wondering if he should bring his daughter to live in Reno, NV. I am not happy at all at the prospect of her taking my grandaughter across the country from us, but cannot in good faith tell my son he should bring her here. What recourse do we, as biological grandparents, and he, as biological father have?
