Legal Question in Family Law in California

Can I take my son overseas to see his grandparents if my wife does not allow it? They have only seen him for a few days a few years ago. He is five years old. We don't intend divorcing.

Can she prevent him from seeing his grandparents if I allow it if they visit us here in California?

You cannot get a passport for the kids without her being present and signing for it with you. In addition, I'm not sure if it is by law, regulation or common practice, but airlines will not let children board most international flights without both parents present or a consent letter from the non-travelling parent. There is nothing she can do to prevent you from domestic travel without a court order, and certainly not from having them visit with family who comes to California.
