Legal Question in Family Law in California

stopping a wage assignment

I had a wage assignment for child support put into place on my ex husband years ago. We have 50/50 custody however my daughter might be going to live with him now because it is more convenient to her school & job. What form(s) would I have to fill out to stop the child support?

Re: stopping a wage assignment

The court has ordered a certain amount of support. The wage assignment must reflect that amount. You will need to obtain a modification of the court order and then submit a new wage assignment.

We can prepare a Stipulation and file it with the court (for less than $250) ... you'll both need to sign it, of course.
