Legal Question in Family Law in California

I suffered from domestic violence over a year ago and my husband and I have been seperated since. He filed for divorce and we cannot get a waiver because he was in the military and I have a part time minimum wage job. The cost is over four hundred dollars and I don't find it appropriate for myself to pay the entire amount to free myself of this man. What can I do?

You need to review the fee waiver petition with the Family Law Facilitator's office. If you cannot afford the full fee but do not qualify for a waiver, you may ask for a hearing on the fee waiver issue. The court may be willing to adjust the fee in light of your financial circumstances.

If you can't get a waiver then you have enough money. If you don't feel like paying, then it just must not be that important to you.
