Legal Question in Family Law in California

after the supreme court of Ca. reviews a mothers appeal for having her child returned to her, and they deny her request, how long should it take before the social worker is contacted to proceed with the finalizaition of adoption? I am the adoptive grandmother. According to the birth mother, she received notice in prison that the court denied her request after review, but the social worker has yet to be notified. It has been about 3 wks since the review. I am getting anxious after this little guy has been with me for 3 yrs. I only have a case # for the appeals court. Is there anyway I can get the # of the case for the supreme court to look it up on line? Thank you

The problem with these cases is that they are kept confidential, so do not always show up on the online index. If you know the appellate case number, you can try to access all case numbers at the California Court's website: http://www.courts.ca.gov/courtsofappeal.htm

If you know which appellate district the original appeal was in, then you can select that particular district from the pull down menu. If the appellate case is in the index, you should be able to access the Supreme Court case number from the appellate case, which will be cross referenced.

If you have trouble, send me a private e-mail and maybe I can help you.
