Legal Question in Family Law in California

Can ex use texts/videos in court to try to get restraining order?

Hello:

My ex is attempting to get a restraining order on me. We have both sent texts/videos via cell in anger at eachother in the past. I've saved all her texts and I know she has saved mine. Is this admissible in the courts to show cause? She is filing a RO (with her name and my baby's name on it) so I can't see my baby.

Yes they are admissible. You should consult an attorney to defend you in a restraining order hearing, a restraining order is a terrible thing to have on your record. It will show up in background checks.

As always please consult with a qualified attorney before proceeding in your case.
