My ex-husband states he will not sign it until I present a letter that is not related to the support stipulation. Please let me know what the law states as to how long they can sit on the new order. Re: what is the time frame in which a stipulation of child support be addressed

This question does not make a lot of sense without knowing the stipulation and the facts. If the judge has made a child support order that order continues to accrue until it is modified and generally cannot be modified retroactively. It doesn't make a difference if there is a formal order. You need to talk to an attorney on this because it could cost you a lot of money not to get legal advice. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
