Legal Question in Family Law in California

Can a video recording of a minor be used against them when they are an adult? It's a video of me and my mother arguing, and it might have seemed like I hit her, but I didn't. In the video, though, it looked like I did. Could this be used against me to put me in prison?

It could be used against you. What charges would be filed would be based on the video and other facts. You would have to properly defend yourself against the charges, which would likely include arguing to have the video evidence thrown out. Just because an individual turns 18 does not mean any evidence of that persons prior criminal activity simply disappears.
