Visitation Viloations

My fiance just went to pick his son up for his scheduled visitation. He flew to Michigan where his son lives with his mom. His sons mother was supposed to be at the airport with his son. She never showed. What can we do now? Is there any way to still get his son we are supposed to have him for christmas.

Re: Visitation Viloations

Has your fiance called mom? Maybe there was a misunderstanding. But if mom is knowingly refusing to comply with court ordered visitaiton, your fiance can go to the local police station with a copy of the court order and see if the police will enforce the order. it is worth a try, although they may refuse if it is a CA order. Do think about the impact of having the police show up at moms's door with dad - it may be traumatic for the child.

Another thought if his visiation is for the week: your fiance may want to stay in town until Tuesday and try and contact an attorney who can help him have the CA order lodged (or whatever the process is called there) so it is enforceable by local authorities. Good luck!
