ex -wife using husbands identity and last name

dear sirs

my son is 29 and has been divorced from his wife since 1999.

we recently lost a case against her for child abuse due his filing wrong. Last week we found out that she has used his social security number to open a checking account and used him as a beneficiary. She filed irs and said she has full custody of the children and their is joint custody.

they took my sons check and irs refund...he want a new social securoty number because he has been going through a lot she is out to hurt him and has several bouyfriend...

She does not have to have sole custody to claim the children on her income tax return. The parent that has the children the majority of the time can claim the children as dependents, unless there is an agreement or court order giving the other parent the right to claim the children as dependents. If she is fraudulently using his social security number report it to the police.
