FMLA / parent

can the ''parent'' be your spouse's parent? or does it have to be by ''blood'' only?

From Cal. Gov't Code section 12945.2:

"Parent" means a biological, foster, or adoptive parent, a stepparent, a legal guardian, or other person who stood in loco parentis to the employee when the employee was a child."

There is no mention in the statute about parent-in-laws.
