If you are seriously ill and unable to work and meet all of the other legal requirement to be eligible for FMLA leave, (been there at least a year, they employ 50 or more people, locally, etc.) then you qualify. You may also have a workers compensation claim. Check with an attorney in your area to determine what your rights are.

People qualify for FMLA if they have been employed full time for at least a year at a company with 50 employees, and also if they have a medical condition that requires leave[s]. Your doctors are going to have to agree. If you think you meet those qualifications, and that you've been improperly denied benefits, feel free to contact me if serious about pursuing such claim.

Claims of 'stress' invoke Workers Comp issues that you'll need to discuss with your doctor and a comp attorney in your area.
