Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

breach of contract on a lease

I co-leased a house last Dec 1, with a botfriend. On Dec 13 he asked me to leave, and moved my belongings into the garage. The landlord agreed to remove my name from the lease but only if the boyfriend would sign a new one. He has refussed. Do I any legal ground to stand on? I really am only interested in getting my name off the lease but would be willing to ask for more inorder to push the issue.

Re: breach of contract on a lease

You should try to negotiate a common ground between your ex-boyfriend, your landlord and you and you should read the lease to see if there is any sort of early termination provision.

Feel free to contact my office if you need any assistance.
