take over car payments

my co-worker took over the payments for my car and it is still being finance, unfortunately she was unable to pay it all so she returned the vehicle to me,now she is claiming that I should return all the payments she made when she was using my car.

How much were the payments? For her to have all of her payments returned would unjustly enrich her for the value of the use of the car. Contact me directly.

If she had rented a car from one of those big rental companies, I'm sure the car payments wouldn't even come close to those charges. She got the benefit of the bargain -- you didn't even have use of the car during that time, I assume. I don't think a court would force you to pay her anything back. Query: Does she also want you to reimburse her for the gasoline she used to drive herself around?

Tell her no. If your deal was that she was to make the payments while she had possession and use of the car, then she is out of luck.
