Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I had a case filed in July of 2007 and it was dismissed in Jan. 2011. I think my lawyer knew that the case should not be filed but he did. Therefore, he was killing me because I paid him almost 30K. At the end, I did not get anything back from defendants.

Should I file a complaint to state bar?

You have given the barest bones of information. You have not said what you believe your attorney did wrong. Not winning a case is NOT grounds by itself for a complaint. Was it that he filed a lawsuit that he knew or should have not did not have merit?

You need to state what you believe your attorney did that was negligent in representing you.

You should consult with an attorney in that area of law to get an opinion on what was done. I never recommend filing with the State Bar unless you are justified and sure of the allegations. Many case are high risk and are lost, that in and of itself is not proof of anything wrong. A lot depends upon what 'promises' were made to you, and whether the charges are reasonable. If serious about consulting, feel free to contact me.
