Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Need to change court date

I was recently sued in small claims court and lost. I filed an appeal and recieved a court date in the mail. The problem is that I just started a new job and am in a training program the first 4 weeks. The court date is scheduled during my last week of training. Is there any way to get it changed?

You need to contact the court clerk and request a continuance. They should be able to tell you if this is possible and what you need to do in order to request it. Good luck.
