Civil Lawsuit
I'm a single parent and being sued for $40,000 and not able to afford an attorney.
Am I worse off not having an attorney present?
Will they allow me to make payments on the judgment?

You need to provide more detail on what you are being sued for and why. If you can't afford an attorney, you may want to try Legal Aid for assistance.
